Chevy Impala Water Leak

Darrell writes: I have an 88K mile, 2002 Impala and water keeps getting into the trunk. How does someone go about finding a leak like that? The smell is getting terrible!

Darrell, the best way is to find a tech you don’t like and put him in the trunk armed with a flashlight. Usually about 5 minutes under the water hose and you’ll have your answer. Of course, with the newer cars having an emergency trunk release inside, there isn’t as much trust involved anymore. By the way, the first place to look is the taillight seals.
